Move over Autocourse (2/2 people found this helpful)

It may, thus far, lack the collectability of Autocourse, but in almost every other respect this is a far superior publication. Details of everything which happened in the season, by team, by driver, by car, by race - you name it. And it accomplishes this with a lack of bias Autocourse could do well to learn from.

Excellent first effort.

A definitive record of the F1 season (1/1 people found this helpful)

For years I've been a believer that Autocourse was the Bible of racing annuals. It's still unrivalled as far as breadth of coverage and quality of photography goes, but the Official (Bernie-Approved!) Formula One Annual takes the crown as far as sheer volume of F1 insight is concerned. Over twice the size of Autocourse, and dedicated entirely to F1, this huge book covers pretty much everything that happened on track, in the pits and in the boardroom last year (although it does rather soft-pedal the "big" politics such as the ACEA-FIA split...)

Basically, everything you could conceivably want to know about last year's F1 season is in here. Driver by driver, team by team, race by race, and even a very strong engineering/technical analysis... it's all there.

For the pure F1 fan, there's no choice - you need this book. Racing enthusiasts with a wider interest in the sport will probably want to put up another shelf next to the Autocourse collection and buy both -- it's that good.

Superb record of season (1/1 people found this helpful)

I found this Annual an absolute record of the season. There is drivers teams news races statistics sections. The only criticism is the weight. At over 600 pages it weighs a ton. I couldn't put it down and am ordering copies for my friends for Christmas.
