Reader Reviews:The bitter medicine for strong verbs (14/14 people found this helpful)This is without a doubt the one Swedish book that you need. There are plenty of good grammar books, a couple excellent dictionaries, but only one verb reference--thankfully it's outstanding. It does an excellent job of explaining the changing nature of Swedish verbs and provides biblical/antiquainted forms in detail. Strong verb vowel patterns are included in a consice chart and most of them have an example fully conjugated as one of the 201 (which leads to some of them being rather odd choices [niga - to curtsy] for the book). Finally, the colloquial exceptions to the rule are not disregarded, in true Swedish egalitarianism. I highly recommend this: I just bought five for the people in my Swedish class. The only verb book I know of for swedish verb forms (14/15 people found this helpful)This book seems to have a monopoly on verbs forms. It's handy if you want to get your swedish just right. I'm just beyond SFI level and it's still useful Similar ProductsEssential Swedish Grammar (Dover Books on Language) Swedish Dictionary: English-Swedish, Swedish-English (Bilingual Dictionaries) The Xenophobe's Guide to the Swedes (Xenophobe's Guides) (Xenophobe's Guides) Swedish: An Essential Grammar (Routledge Grammars) CategoriesAmazon.co.uk places this book into the following categories:
