Reader Reviews:Without a doubt, my favourite christmas story. (2/2 people found this helpful)Although I am only twelve years old I enjoy classics such as this dickens novel. I first heard of the story when I watched a "Muppets christmas carol",after watching many versions of this popular classic my mum suggested that I should read the origanal story by charles dickens. So I went to the library and rented out the book to read. The book is very descriptive and heart warming, so discriptive that it was as if I was watching it happen. The story of a christmas carol(just incase you have not heard of it for some bizarre reason) is a story of a cranky old millionare who is visited by a series of ghosts on christmas eve(marly, past, future and present), after being officially terrified the old guy(scrooge) changes his ways and gives his main employee a raise! Its a happy and festive story and I recomend reading it to all(especaily cranky peaple who hate christmas). compelling story (6/7 people found this helpful)My daughter studied this in year 8 and tells me she loved it - I feel the same way - this is a wonderful story - please do not think that just because it's a classic it's boring because it's not it's wonderful. A magical read that invites you into a tale about Scrooge, a stingey and nasty piece of work who discovers himself through ghosts who show him the error of his ways. Definitely a must for Christmas reading! this is a book about a man who is haunted at christmas.
