Reader Reviews:Excellent Study Guide (6/6 people found this helpful)Clear, precise instructions on the principles of mixing an individual herbal prescription.Covers the basics: use of herbal tinctures, liquid extracts, quality, dosage, record keeping, dispensing and creating formulas. Extensive and detailed materia medica section that includes, herb descrition, actions, indications, traditional uses, contra-indications, dosage and potential interactions. Highly recommended for students and perhaps newly qualified herbalists! Concise, fully referenced and with dosages! (11/11 people found this helpful)This book is an excellent and well needed text for Herbal Medicine students and practitioners alike. The information is accurate and set out very clearly with key research and references. My only gripe is that there is not enough guidance on adjusting the dosages for liquid preparations other than 1:2 or 1:5. Still, this book is a must for all Western Medical Herbalists (especially students!)
