Reader Reviews:there is no better introduction to prophecy available (6/7 people found this helpful)This comprehensive edition of Joseph Blenkinsopp's masterful work has propved invaluable as a undergraduate theologian. It provides a masterful critical history of Israelite prophecy and it is unusual to encounter a text that provides an overview of prophecy from a historio-social perspective. The text is enjoyable and extremely readable whilst covering information of great depth and breadth. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It is thought provoking and enables one to reach one's own conclusions about Israelite prophecy and the extensive bibiliograpies are invaluable.
