Having lived in Thailand for a couple of years I have found the recipies in this book to be very authentic. Whatever I cook from it takes me back to Thailand and all the ingrediants are very easy to find in the UK. The only comment that I have against the book is that for someone who is new to thai cooking there are not enough pictures to show what the finished dishes should look like.

It describes every single thing you need to know about Thai food. The history behind the meal, the ingredients and how to get or cook them, and the characteristics of the food and the culture itself.

This was my first Thai recipe book, way back in 1990, 4 years after having spending a month in Thailand, and hankering after that exclusive Thai taste. At the time, this was the only book I could find on the subject - now that the shelves are groaning with Thai cookbooks, I still find that this book is my ultimate reference on Thai food, with all the favourites in easy-to-follow recipes.
