I have tried numerous tutorial books by all the main 'brands' for many types of software but this is easily the best. Very well written, interesting and useful excercises, excellent layout and easy to follow. All the example files are all as they should be, this is an all to common problem in many manuals, so there are no frustrating moments sidetracking you from your learning.
This is the only book you need to get you started in After Effects.

This really is the book to start with if you're new to after effects CS or version 7. Very clear explainations at every stage with excellent examples. I can't see how this could be improved
