A great holiday read (1/1 people found this helpful)

Not Judy Astley's best book, however it was still a very entertaining read while lounging on a sunbed in Spain. As ever, I look forward to her next.

An easy holiday read (0/0 people found this helpful)

I was attracted to this book because of my impending holiday and assumed it would be a flirty and exciting pastime to while away those lazy beach days.... It was, however even though the main characters grew on me from the offstart, i didn't have too much sympathy with Beth. She seemed blase about the fact that her husband had recently had an affair and even though she did not realise that the mistress was indeed their holidaying chum, when the news broke her reaction was tame to say the least! Actually her reaction to alot of things quite annoyed me and made me want to shake her. I wish she had been more feisty and spirited!
Anyway as much as i enjoyed this simple and quite delightful little story, which was just what i needed to dip in and out of, it totally denied me the thrills and twist i was anxiously awaiting as the book drew to an end!

A good idea but didn't quite deliver ... (0/0 people found this helpful)

What sounded like a delightful and devilishly good plot only turned out to be quite tame and almost disapointing it wasn't delivered with enough flare or excitment. It came to a point where I almost didn't care what happened to the main character and her husbands relationship and while I knew I was supposed to be enthralled by the fact the mistress is on holiday with our leading lady and she didn't even know it, I just never quite got into it and was willing the book to end. I feel guilty saying this as I couldn't write anything myself and it was obviously popular this summer but I thought the book was flat, boring and lifeless when it was intending to evoke the opposite from its readers. Try this for yourself, you may like it but i wouldn't recommend it.

cannot put it down (0/0 people found this helpful)

Haven't even finished reading it yet but already i am racing my mum to finish it, never both been reading a book at the same time, but its just so good. It transports me and my mum both back to our caribbean holiday last year, hence adding excitment. Started reading it yesterday morning and am nearly finished, i keep reading it when i should be working, my mum is also reading furriously, only when i dont have it, me also. Have gone to extremes to try and read it on the net as my mum has it at the moment.
