If you're starting out in television, or would like to, then "Basic Studio Directing" is a very good way to get an insight into the running of a studio. Like all the focal press books it's clear, concise and accurate.It's certainly not light, entertaining reading, but very much a textbook for learning. If you're a keen amateur or curious as to what goes on behind the scenes then this is an excellent glimpse into broadcast TV. Even if you're unlikely to work in a TV Studio, this book gives enough tips and reminders so that all camera personel, not just budding directors, would learn something from it.
