Reader Reviews:A vivid story dulled by poor writing (0/0 people found this helpful)...I feel churlish to complain about this book as it is written by the 70+yr old wife of an Australian Bomber Command veteran, and his story is undoubtably worth telling. Unfortunately, she chose to tell the story in the omniscient third person, crucially giving voice to his thoughts and those of his comrades in arms. This often leads to the perception that you are reading a work of fiction especially when you encounter clunking dialogue attributed to people of which the protagonist cannot have had any knowledge.
