'Best of British Fish features recipes from (4/4 people found this helpful)

Richard Corrigan, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, Sue Lawrence, Claire Macdonald, Nick Nairn, Mark Precott, Gary Rhodes, Franco and Ann Taruschio, Mitchell Tonks, Brian Turner, Marco Pierre White and Aldo Zilli, as well as easy and sophisticated dishes from fish restaurateurs, fishmongers and fishermen. This diverse collection of recipes represents the wealth of fish caught in British waters, and includes something for every occasion. The dishes are accompanied by profiles of some of fishing's most striking figures, from trawler-men to fish-and-chip sellers, written by respected food writer Hattie Ellis.........
The result is a unique combination of dishes bringing the pleasures of British fish to your table alongside an account of the harsh realities of life at sea.
A royalty from this book goes to The Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen.'

with foreword from Rick Stein, an introduction and a concise index.

Each chapter opens with a relevant introduction, followed by the recipes, which are clearly laid out with the title, the attribution, relevant text, the list of ingredients, the number of servings and a clearly numbered method.
This book is also interspersed with information pieces, black and white on location shots and nostalgia.

It is perhaps light on photographs of the finished dishes, but having said that, the ones that are pictured are mouth-watering (please see above images).

`Vichyssoise with Oyster Croutons
Native oysters are good when there is an `r' in the month. During the summer they are spawning and out of season. Pacific or rock oysters, however, can be eaten all year round and you can use either for this elegant dish.'
