Reader Reviews:Orange Belt (9/12 people found this helpful)Describing this as "black belt" is misleading. The puzzles are not difficult even though the back cover says "WARNING: All puzzles are migraines!". Much easier than The Times fiendish or The Daily Telegraph tough. Let's call them moderate or medium. This would be OK if you want some puzzles that aren't for beginners but keep you happily occupied for a while. Once you get into the swing of them they are not challenging. To be fair though the puzzles are enjoyable enough to do and are not as facile as many I have seen in tabloids. You still have to apply logic. The book itself is small enough to easily tuck in jeans pockets which is convenient in one way but can be fiddly to handle (it is about 4 x 3.5 inches). The paper is the best quality I have found in a Sudoku book which makes working in pencil very easy. Way too easy (5/9 people found this helpful)I bought this book on the premise that I was getting 100 *difficult* puzzles. I found them ridiculously easy, and only about 5 required any logic at all beyond just going over the numbers again and again. Very disappointing. Avoid if you've gone beyond "easy" solving level. Excellent size, really enjoyable (2/4 people found this helpful)I loved this book - and particuarly like its handy size. Perfect for carry about with me. not as difficult as you might think (2/7 people found this helpful)Good book, passes some time enjoyably but really not very challenging. Its difficult to describe why - but most of the puzzles felt the same and needed very few techniques or different ways to figure out the answer. Felt like these were drawn up by a computer and these were just one related batch of puzzles all cooked up at the same time. Solve one, you've done them all. Not as interesting or varied as Grandmaster Sudoku - I just did Volume 6 and some of the puzzles were so hard, I had to write them out and start again! Much more thrilling and satisfying than Black belt sudoku. Ihave bought and completed several books of sudoku, and I won't be buying the next Black belt sudoku unless there is nothing else. A great little book! (5/7 people found this helpful)This is a good collection of Sudoku puzzles. They weren't as hard as I was expecting but still hours of fun. I'd highly recommend it.
