4/5 stars

He's more than just a giant!! (2/2 people found this helpful)

A must for any major Lomu fan who wants to find out the turbulent life history of this rugby legend which no interview could possibly reveal!

The reader gets a insight into the travels of Shirley in New Zealand, whilst visiting Jonah's hometown and catching up with his old pals. It delves into his violent childhood, e.g. the murder of his uncle and cousin, his rise to fame, his serious kidney illness and how the All Blacks had the World Cup stolen from them by the South Africans. (Shame on them if the alleged dirty trick they pulled is true!) It also reveals how Jonah is a real softie at heart: shy, spiritual and sensitive.

However it doesnt really talk that much about his marriage nor much input from the big guy himself, (after all it is 'unofficial'). Also, it doen't cover details of the last World Cup or his new fiancee. Nonetheless a great book with some cool pics - a definite read, especially since bios on this awesome guy are hard to come buy.
