Reader Reviews:Great book (0/0 people found this helpful)I bought this book about 3 years ago, when I went back to college and then university. The book is brilliant for the beginner and, explanations of the body systems are easy to understand. I found this book really useful in getting to know what each of the body systems consist of. This is deffinately the book for the beginner and, it is a good book for younger students at school. It has great illustrated pictures and diagrams.
Wonderful book -shame about the spiral binding (0/1 people found this helpful)I bought this book for my 5 year old who is fascinated with human biology and is way past the typical skeletal structure and digestive processes that permeate junior nonfiction biology books. She will grow up with this book. It is a treasured companion and has been used for research on many occasions. The rest of the family love it too.
Very disappointed (0/1 people found this helpful)I was very excited on the receipt of this book as it seemed very prfessional and educating. Amazon surprised me yet again with the speed of their deliery: i recieved it 3 days before the expected arrival, which was great...but this is as far great goes. When i started reading the book i realized that there was very little narrative in it, the whole book was 90% diargrams, illustrations, etc., but i didn't mind it so much because they were VERY professional ones. But then reading it further i realized that around 10 pages were were repeated twice in the book, under different chapters, totally incoherent and one page was in spanish! I find this hugely disappointing and sloppy work. To me is seems that, as this is a spiral back book, that the totally wrong pages were put in it.
Great Pictures (0/0 people found this helpful)This book has really good pictures and clear illustrations. Arrived on time complete with CD (more than I can say for one particular shop outlet). Only given 4 stars because I've not yet looked at the CD itself. We have all found this book interesting..................... (0/0 people found this helpful)I bought this book after seeing the other reviews on Amazon and needing a book for my 7 year old who is learning about the Human Body at school. My son has loved looking at the pictures in this book - the bright colours and the graphics are impressive. My 14 year old son is embarking on his GCSE Biology - he has been using it to help him with his understanding of the heart and has found the diagrams helpful and the notes informative. He then damaged his ligament whilst playing football - we consulted the book - and with the amazing pictures were able to understand a lot better what the doctor was trying to explain to at the surgery. Can't praise the layout enough - its a gteat informative book which spans the age groups. It's a purchase you won't regret.
