Reader Reviews:BSL - not a guide worth buying! (27/27 people found this helpful)I thought this book would have provided a reasonable introduction to BSL. I found it very old fashion, outdated and wouldn't recommend anyone purchasing it. Speak to your tutors first before wasting money. A very disappointing buy!!!! British Sign Language, A Beginner's Guide (32/32 people found this helpful)Found this book very helpful when starting to learn sign. Each of the chapters are informative, easy to get a good grasp of sign language. Illustrations are clear using expression with body language to help what you are trying to say to the person you would be communicating with. A very brief explanation of British sign language (42/53 people found this helpful)This book did not live up to my expectaions. More examples of actual signs are needed, the definitions presented were very difficult to decifer due to lack of clarity in their performance instructions. Section on BSL history was short and not particularly well written. Only for beginners.
