Reader Reviews:a good introduction to Scots fiddle music (0/0 people found this helpful)This is a good book by people who know their subject inside out, and you can trust it absolutely as a guide to Scots fiddle music. It contains a large selection of good examples and the notes and suggestions for playing are very helpful. I don't give it five stars simply because I think James Hunter's book on Scottish fiddle music, which covers the same ground at least as authoritatively but more comprehensively with a really fine and wide-ranging selection of tunes, is better. But I'm not sure that it is in print right now - it's the one to seek out though. In its absence, this is a good substitute.
