An utterly brilliant Introductory biography of the life and times of the legendary Liberal Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman (CB to his peers) and his effect he had on the history of Britain. Looking at all his challenges from getting elected in 1865 through his battles to remove the Duke of Cambridge as army C-in-C to his final implementation of social reforms and his controversial opposition of the Boer war and actions to clear up the mess. A brilliant book about a good hearted man who struggled with the burden of the highest office while coping with the troubles of his wifes painful ailments and his own, numerous heart attacks. A thoroughly enjoyable read and highly recommended.
