Reader Reviews:Best book for ball juggling (1/1 people found this helpful)Amazing book if you're into ball juggling. Covers a lot of tricks from three up to seven balls, great layout with alphabetical order of tricks, printed in a smart way since it stays open on the page you're looking at if you lay it out on the floor while practicing, and it's easy to understand the tricks presented. Also - it is very funny. You can read it just for a good laugh. So far it's the very best book about toss juggling that I've come across. Charlie Dancey have also written a similar book about Club Juggling - "The Compendium of Club Juggling" - wich is really worth checking out if you're thinking about club juggling too. Great collections of tricks. (17/17 people found this helpful)This is a rather unusual book on juggling. First of all, it is layed out as an Encyclopedia, with all entries being alphabetical, and not in order of difficultly - so the easy tricks get mingled with the type that would make an octopus wince. This is quite a good idea though, as I found myself trying moves which would normaly nestle at the back of other juggling books. It's comprehensive as well, including a large amount of three to seven ball tricks, plus floor & bounce juggling. Moves are demonstrated with Charlie's own cartoon drawings, which are simple, clear and sometimes quite amusing. Difficult moves are often referenced to other simpler moves, and broken down into stages. It caters for beginners as well, with the basic 3-ball cascade. It also includes some slightly strange entries (aardvark, gravity, Jurassic pass), due to Charlie Dancey's sense of humour, which wanders off in some strange directions! An entertaining read, and full of great tricks. An amusing informative look at juggling (5/5 people found this helpful)I was bought this book as a present. I found it to be most entertaining, Danceys cartoons add a relaxing edge to what can only be described as a jugglers bible. The book shows many juggling tricks but also inculdes things to boost your confidence when things arnt going to plan. The best how-to-juggle book I have ever read (8/8 people found this helpful)Charley Dancey has set out to create a marvelous book on ball jugglilng, and succeeded. Even seasoned pro's would get something out of this book. It is laid out alphabetically so that you can check out how to do certain juggling tricks, but I read it from cover to cover because it is so amusing. (Check out the aardvark!) He takes you through the basics on learning 3-ball juggling, then the sky is the limit. He shows you how to do 3, 4, 5, 6, and yes, even 7 ball tricks. He also teaches you to read the notation at the back of the book that he claims has every ball juggling trick there is. Don't know if it is true, but I certainly am never going to be able to do them all. Brilliant book, all round. If you are into juggling, then get this book....you need it! Extremely Helpful (8/8 people found this helpful)Dancey has a knack for making the explanations and descriptions of juggling patterns decipherable. His banter is humorous and not distracting (as is the case with many juggling instructional books). And this book has numerous invaluable and easily applied tips that will instantly improve ones juggling. As one somewhere between the beginner and intermediate stage of juggling ability, I was able use his suggestions to gain control of moves I hadn't a clue as to how to master. The cross referencing also helps determine what you need to be able to do in order to do what you really want to do. This book is a big help!
