Reviewers frequently complained that the author's textbook 'Colloquial Croatian and Serbian' did not contain all the answers and translations to the exercises and dialogues. Splitting 'Colloquial Croatian and Serbian' into two books on Croatian and Serbian respectively, should have been an unique opportunity for the author to add the missing information. After all, the "Colloquial"-series is designed for self-study; therefore the reader should be provided with all the help possible. It is incomprehensible why the author did not bother to do so, thus reducing the book's value significantly. Beginners should rather consider to purchase a copy of Norris' very good book "Teach yourself Croatian".

I think this book is a really great purchase for anyone who is serious about teaching themself Croatian! It is much more substantial than Teach Yourself Croatian, which although a brilliant book, covers a more basic approach to learning this fascinating language.
This book is a remake of the previously entitled 'Colloquial Croatian and Serbian', which had almost 80 pages fewer than this title and aimed to teach 2 languages at the same time. The author made a good decision when producing separate books, as this new edition which limits itself to Croatian only is extremely thorough, moreso than the previous title.
All in all, a brilliant book!
