Amazing, as usual. (1/1 people found this helpful)

I have been following this series for a long time now and have had great joy in reading the adventures J.D. Robb brings to the page. Eve Dallas, Roarke, Peabody, Feeney and McNab are just a great team. Robb created something speciel with them.
In this book Eve must face a murderer from the past, working harder than ever before.
I greatly enjoyed this book, as I have enjoyed all the In Death books and I hope you who are reading this have the same experience.

Great book....but not much in the way of Roarke & Eve.... (3/3 people found this helpful)

This book is so fast-paced and takes place over so very few days, that there are maybe only 2 scenes where Eve and Roarke manage to find time to spend together. Whilst I've loved every book in the series, I have to admit that this one left me feeling a little short-changed in the romance department, as for me, the relationship between the couple is as important and exciting as that of Eve and her work. Also, there's very little mention of Peabody and McNab - again due to the pace - and it felt like missing out on old friends! Still, JD Robb will remain an auto-buy for me.

the thrills continue (3/4 people found this helpful)

A case unsolved,a killer never caught, lurches back centre stage, for Eve and Feeney." the groom "has struck again. The cat and mouse game begins with Eve being the ultimate target.Excellent story telling as we have come to expect from Nora Roberts aka J D Robb.
This tale is personal and Eve is determined to be the winner this time !!!

A pleasure as always (5/5 people found this helpful)

This is the latest title in the In Death series by JD Robb, it does stand alone but I would definately recommend starting with Naked in Death as there has been a lot of character develpment over the series.

This story is about a torturer who was active in New York 9 years ago when Eve was a Detective and Feeney was her Lieutenant. The killer was one of the ones who got away, a case that has nagged at Eve and Feeney over the years and now he's back. The story follows the case as they try to make sure they catch him this time, with a great twist at the end. I don't want to give too much away about the story but if you've read and liked any of the other in Death books you won't want to miss this one.

We get to see more of Feeney and Eve's relationship in this book and as always Rouke and Eve are fantastic (not much in the way of development of their relationship in this book but since they've had lots of ups and downs they deserve to be living the good life as far as their marriage goes.)

I did think that there was a bit of an update in the kind of technical language that was used during the case in this book...made me think a lot of the tv show Criminal Minds with terms such as unsub.

I loved this book and would definately recommend it.
