I bought this guide for its ease of use and its pictures, to be used alongside the much more detailed Rough Guide and separate map and a walking guide. On its own I think it would be rather inadequate unless all you are looking for is a quick, easy and cheap guide, which is really all it claims to be.

This pocket book contains some helpful information. The map included though is a bit of a pain as it is split right down the middle of the island from top to bottom and the journey we are making runs practically down the length of the split, going from one page to the other so it is a bit difficult to track the journey as the top is on one page and the bottom is on the other side.

I placed the order for this book almost 2 months before my trip to Crete and it never came. I contacted the seller and they told me to ask the neighbors and the Post where it was. I did that and of course they had no idea. I wrote back to the company requesting a refund but they never responded. My trip has come and gone and the book, should it ever by some miracle arrive, is worthless to me now.
I would advise caution in buying from this organization. They do not track orders, and are very unhelpful if something goes amiss.
I would not buy from this company again. Lesson learned.

The guide had everything I needed for a visit to Crete. On occasion it did represent a triumph of advertising over substance, but that could be down to expectations being too high. A very useful resource, but be wary of the hype.
