If you liked Cocks' Fireforce, you would do better to reread it than buy this one, which starts slow and finishes slow after a long slow middle. The book shows how boring soldiering can be.

A nitty gritty war novel, written with startingly clarity. A book which I found very moving as well as disturbing. But still something I could not put down. This should be a definite read for anyone with an interest in Rhodesia.
