4/5 stars

Credit to the SAS (0/0 people found this helpful)

This is a great book. It tells how the author was so impressed by an exchange tour with 22 SAS, that when he returned to the states decided to try and get the US forces to set up their own version.

The amount of red tape and egotistical generals he has to work through is incredible, and Charlie Beckwith's methods make you smile.

Read and enjoy, but don't buy it if you want to know all about the latest gear & techniques. This book sits more in the 'jacknife & paracord' days.

Solid and yet humble... (4/5 people found this helpful)

This book tells a nice story by one of the first operators. If you are interested in why Delta Force exists, this is the book to read because of the first hand storys the founder of the unit tells. In comparison to other books in this category, its nice to see some traces of humbleness to the work elit forces perform. Buy it, compare it to other "elite" authors and love it...
