More brilliant Alpha Force!! (11/12 people found this helpful)Book review: Alpha force, Desert pursuit This book is-written by Chris Ryan and is-in the Alpha force series. It is an action/thriller written by the ex-SAS hero-famed in the Bravo Two Zero patrol-who has since taken up writing full time. It has his trademark features; his gung ho style, its attention to detail and most of all its overflowing with technical information/vocabulary. The story is set-as you may guess from the title-in the Sahara Desert. The team, composed of five kids, goes to the Sahara to try and enlarge the amount of publicity dealt to land mine victims. However, they discover something much, much worse… When they find the land mine victims they get angry. When their guide is kidnapped by child traffickers, they get FURIOUS! The result is a high speed chase across the desert searching for one of the team-who has also been kidnapped. The book is packed with everything you might want to know about the subjects/equipment. The end of the book is followed by Chris Ryan’s top ten tips for desert survival. These even though they would be of very limited use in a real situation are a nice touch. To describe the book in one word -only one word suits the job, GREAT! Similar Products
