Anyone interested in radical art and politics in Britain since the 1960s will find this book fascinating and informative. Kennard's leftwing photomontages are finely illustrated in this well produced and designed book. An introduction by Amanda Hopkinson provides a history of photomontage, then Kennard himself supplies a commentary on his work that is both illuminating and moving - the personal memories of his childhood, his family and his relationship to London (where he was born and has lived all his life) give a human dimension to a documentation of art in the service of political struggles and human causes both national and international. There is a chronology of Kennard's work and a bibliography but no index.
