A Diggers Year (0/0 people found this helpful)

I brought this book on a whim, and didn't regret it. It's funny, but also contains some useful hints and tips on a growing year on an allotment.

I really enjoyed this book (0/0 people found this helpful)

I have read most of the books written lately by allotment holders, and this is definitely the best. It is "real", and it rings true. It is also a very good read; well written and funny.
I have just finished reading it, and will start it again immediately!

Down to earth - whether you're green fingered or not (0/0 people found this helpful)

The book was orignally bought for my other half as a present and like other reviewers I found I could not put it down once I had started.

Victor's year on the allotment (now some time ago) left me uplifted, saddened and laughing all the time - much like life. Whether you are green fingered or not, you will appreciate the characters, situations and the writing style.

I hope victor resurrects the website (mentioned during the book), but no matter - there are plenty of good sites and loads of poeple to help; just like those in his book. Buy and read this - you will enjoy and appreciate the honesty of the seasons.

i bought this book as i have just recently obtained an allotment,
i can safely say it is one of the best books ive ever read,
with its witty humor and slighty serious overtones, this book will evoke emotions about gardening you didnt know you had.A brilliant read for any one who likes gardening and i guarantee that you will not be able to put it down.

An absolute favourite (1/1 people found this helpful)

I love this book, it puts over some of the real emotions an allotment can invoke, amusement, sadness, despair and great joy, a real rollercoaster of a story. I have to read it at least once a year.
