Reader Reviews:Clear and useful overview of the discourse/identity field (0/0 people found this helpful)I'm a doctorate researcher, looking at how gay men position themselves in relation to straight men, and this book has saved me hours and hours of work! The range of examples and references that the authors include here is wonderful; but more importantly, their analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of each of the theoretical models that they look at has really helped me to make sense of what I was reading elsewhere. They provide a overview of how different theories and models of analysis sit in relation to one another; this has enabled me to 'see the wood' rather than going on getting lost amongst the trees. Very helpful and I'd recommend it (though I'm not telling anyone about it!) to anyone undertaking narrative research, or research into identity construction.
