Reader Reviews:An important contribution to Disraelian biography. (3/3 people found this helpful)This is perhaps the best book about Disraeli to be published since Lord Blake's classic life (1966). Indeed, it should be read in conjunction with the latter and as a kind of corrective of it. Smith emphasizes the significance of Jewishness and romanticism as building blocks in Disraeli's personality in an original and forceful way.
