As a small child, I was entranced by the artwork and the rhyming simplicity of this book. Finally I have a copy of my own - not the dog - eared library copy from over thirty years ago.
And I have to admit that this still charms me.

Drummer Hoff has been around for a while but it has not lost its charm. The lino-cut illustrations are vibrant and eye catching and the rhyme is easily learnt by children. It is one of those delightful children's books which invites the reader to participate.It reminds me of 'Hairy Mclarey from Donaldson's Dairy' but I think Drummer Hoff came first!
