Does what it says on the tin. (4/4 people found this helpful)

You are not going to learn Dutch just by using these CDs alone. They are a useful tool and should be used as an aid to your main method of learning. I find them very useful as I need to improve my knowledge and pronounciation of adverbs/verbs/nouns etc... and these CDs do precisely this.

Vocabulearn Dutch/Engels (15/15 people found this helpful)

This product is fantastic, and simple to use. The Vocabulearn publishers do however advise that the programme does not teach Dutch grammar and is only to be used as an additional tool to more formal Dutch teaching. You will still have to dig out those course books, I'm afraid.

This product contains 4 CDs which you can listen to while you are on the train, or in your car etc. The CDs are recorded in long lists of words and expressions. The recordings are made by native Dutch speakers so you quickly learn how to say the words correctly. This is especially helpful as I have found from reading books on Dutch that the Dutch language has vowels that do not exist in the English language.
CD1: Introduces basic nouns
CD2: Adjectives and adverbs eg klein - little and vlug - quickly
CD3: Introduces expressions eg "See you tomorrow" - "tot morgen" and "What do you think?" - "wat vindt u ervan?"
CD4: Introduces verbs in the infinitive form ie. "to ..."
eg. to sing - zingen, to buy - kopen, to cook - koken

The CDs are also accompanied by a thin booklet so you can read along if practicable, and therefore learn the spellings of the words.

This pack of CDs is not for everyone. If you don't like repetition this is not for you. However, I think that for myself personally, the only way that I can learn something off by heart is to learn it parrot-fashion, by listening to something over and over again.

I have only had this product a few days but I have learned loads already and my Dutch vocabulary is much improved.
