Reader Reviews:Who's enemy? (1/1 people found this helpful)This is Guillou's fourth book about Carl Gustav Gilbert Hamilton, and even though Hamilton has been through many dangers for the Swedish government, they have reason to believe he's a spy for an enemy nation. Hamilton was a rebellious youngster who got the opportunity to be trained in California at the level of Navy SEALs, in total secrecy, of course. Now, the Swedish government uses his talents to protect their country, their people and their interests. But when there is suspicion that Hamilton is a spy, they end up with their hands tied. On one hand, he is the greatest asset the Swedish army has ever had, a real-life James Bond who, believe it or not, has a licence to kill, only not officially. On the other hand, if he really is a spy, he also has access to and information about the Swedish army's most dangerous and secret information, which in the wrong hands can become very dangerous. In Enemy's Enemy, Hamilton is sent on a mission to Moscow while the politicians decide what to do with him, if they can trust him or not. In Moscow, Hamilton is working on the task of stopping the espionage conducted by a convicted spy who managed to escape while on probation, as well as getting to know the Russian capital. As the fourth book in a series of eleven about Carl Hamilton's adventures, it has it's advantages to know the previous books, but in this case, it is not necessary, as the author reminds the reader of important happenings, as well as the grounds for Hamilton's medals of honour from Germany, France and Sweden. A great read, to the very last page, as always... Guillou's books are superb! (4/4 people found this helpful)This 10 book series is simply superb. The whole research, the reality of the stories, the post cold war scenes, and the swedish super agent Hamilton, who aristocratic appear through the series can only get my best recommendations. Read it, and you are hooked on more. Swedish James Bond (5/5 people found this helpful)Carl Hamilton is a Swedish naval officer, trained in USA. Here he is up against a tough enemy who wants to start an "agents war" between Sweden and Russia. Hamilton teams up with the former enemy! Hamilton is a bit too good to be true, but Guillou has done his homework, and the book is well written. Similar ProductsCoq Rouge.
