Lots of info but ultimately dissapointing (8/8 people found this helpful)
While it provides an overview of most areas of Linux, it falls down in the detail. 2 examples follow, but there are many more!
1) Fedora/RHEL both create logical volumes when using the default options to partition the hard drive during installation. However, this subject gets just a short paragraph, explaining the benefits of Logical Volumes, but no information about managing.
2) TCP Wrappers provide a simple and effective way of managing access to a Linux machine. They are installed and enabled, and hosts.deny and hosts.allow can be edited to use them. The book makes no mention of them at all.
A book that claims to be a 'bible' should be far more comprehensive than this. Not recommended.
