The most comprehensive virology text book ever (5/5 people found this helpful)
This book has got to be the best virology text published. It's detail is unrivalled but this may be it's undoing as it is not useful for the virgin virologist. It is a heavy text which does require alot of background knowledge of molecular biology, however once that is reached the book is a goldmine of information. The book covers just about every family of viruses possible from Hepaciviruses to retroviridae. The book is structured well and has section discussing both the epidemiology, molecular biology and pathology of the viruses contained within the book. This is an excellent text but probably for those considering a future in virology!
