Reader Reviews:This is the dog's - no bull!!!! (12/14 people found this helpful)Really hits the parts other gangster books don't reach. Another book by top gangster author Richards puts him firmly on the map to tell it as it is. You can be assured that what you read is the dog's, with no bull! This book delivers in true gangster style. This is a gutsy book with plenty of the red stuff to keep you enthralled. A ROCK SOLID STORY (36/38 people found this helpful)The story consists of everything you would expect of a gangster book. Plenty of women, violence of a gratuitous nature, hard men, the drug scene, double-crossing and more. I defy anyone who enjoys gangster books to come away without having experienced the highs that you would never have known about unless you read this book. This is gangsta violence at its best. A true to life book that is out of this world (34/36 people found this helpful)Absolutely gripping read from start to finish. Who could believe such goings on would take place in the far reaches England, such stories are usually reserved for the Eastend of London. I suppose that now that the Kray era is well and truly over then we can expect other areas to produce their characters, and what a pair this Viv Graham and Lee Duffy were!!!
real hardcore - spot on (37/39 people found this helpful)This is the real 'I am', a crazy true life story of two gangsters that died terrible deaths!! The crazy thing is I knew them both!!! Everything in the book is true to form and tha author is to be congratulated for going as far as he did to find out everything there was to find out about these two giant-sized men. Everything was spot on. I would have recommended you read 'Viv Graham and Lee Duffy's Parallel Lives', as that book was real heavyweight in what it had in it, I think it was a limited edition and can no longer be bought. That book sent shockwaves around the North East's underworld when it came out, it never held back any punches.
Top story by a top writer (43/45 people found this helpful)What you get here is a book written by a top flight crime writer, I have read other books in the same genre by different authors, and the are poorly put together. Don't get me wrong, they are well written but just not equal to this sort of book and how the story comes across. I really fancy seeing this as a film, in fact I think the author was going to make it into a film but I never heard any more?
