This is an amazing story told by a great man who I knew a few years ago. It follows him escaping Poland before the Nazis closed the border, his escape from Europe and his time as a pilot in Bomber Command. He tells how he fell in love with his wife and when they retired they sailed their boat to Cyprus and arrived just before the Turks invaded the north of the island. Following the fall of the Iron Curtain, the story follows their emotional journey back to Poland where Jack shows his wife around all the scenes of his youth. This is a fantastic true story that has been enjoyed by everyone who has read my copy, and most of them go on to buy another copy because they want to read it again. Black Jockey, as the author is known is a real character and that character really comes through in his writing. This book seems to have touched everyone I know who has read it.
