Reader Reviews:does what it says on the jacket (7/9 people found this helpful)this book was bought on a whim - great title, great cover... inside it takes the wannabe Tarantino, PT Anderson, Spielberg et al on a tour of the things you need to know to direct a film. the sections on camera blocking (choosing your shots) and lens selection are excellent, concise, and not couched in techie language. complaints - an over-reliance on 'Bob' Zemeckis for quotes (but then they seem to be close friends), and typos (the hero of Trainspotting has become 'Retten'). but these complaints are minor - this book is a wonderful resource.
