When I learnt C at university we had a rubbish textbook and an even more awful teacher. When I worked through Chapman's book the learning experience was infinitely better. This is due to the fact the the book is extremely concise. It explains very important concepts that will save you hours in debugging common pitfalls.
The book contains numerous worked examples, test questions to see if you have understood everything at the end of each section (with the answers in the back).
The book has an excellent appendix which servers as a reference. You will not regret buying this book. I would be completely lost without it.
