I think Wilkomirski has been unmasked as a Swiss citizen, not a Jew, and not a Holocaust survivor, whose real name is Áruno Doessekker. He spent the war years in a Swiss chalet...

I wept (3/6 people found this helpful)

I wept more than I thought possible on reading this book. There was no air of self pity, just a mindless sort of terror that pervaded everything. The spill over into everyday life afterwards was just numbing - things that most children take so forgranted became the most terrifying ordeals, and to have to remain silent so that nobody could share, understand or help with such total destruction of a soul painted a truly devastating picture. I have reccomended this book to many.
