Reader Reviews:One of the best cookery books ever written (9/9 people found this helpful)This is not only about Hoummos and Tabbouleh although you will find them there and they are really delicious. There are so many unexpected regional recipes which I really enjoyed making and eating. Quite a few of them are now in my list of top ten favourite recipes of all times like the fish stew, Samak Bi--roz, the Ima soup and even the deceptively simple cabbage salad. Nada Saleh- the writer of this book- has the most exquisite palate. Her recipes make you realise the difference between a good cook and a culinary genius. . Everyone who has Lebanese for dinner, fancies themsleves as a great cook and believes they are born lucky should have it, it will be a real surprise . If you just want to try cooking Lebanese I am sure you will thank me for recommending it. Before having "Fragrence of the Earth" in my kitchen my dinner was 80% Italian, now it is 80% Lebanese.
