Flawed Genius (1/1 people found this helpful)

A revealing account of a footballer with as many stories to tell from his off field activities as for how he fared on the pitch.
A truly gifted player, although never quite the same after that horrific injury he suffered in the 1991 F.A Cup Final against Nottingham Forest, he tells many a tale, from starting out at Newcastle, right through to finishing at Boston, with a colourful International career in between.
Gascoigne has an addictive personality and here he covers all his highs and lows in great detail, including his battle against the booze, bouts of depression and a marriage break up.
This is Gazza's story in his own words,an easy and damm good read.

Best Autobiography Ive read!!! (0/0 people found this helpful)

This is the best autobiography Ive ever read. He is so honest, not leaving out one thing because it might embarress him, or get him in trouble. Its brilliantly written, and the subtle swearing makes it even more enjoyable. Even if you dont like football, you will enjoy this autobiography!

Interesting (0/3 people found this helpful)

At what point in this book are we to feel sorry for the multi talented, multi millionaire (obviously at some time) debauched Kid who had it all.Yes it's interesting to read,as all englishmen love a loser!!But other than wanting our empathy I really don't see the point in this.Incidently, you can certainly tell this book wasn't ghost written - Author only!!

Demons (0/0 people found this helpful)

Brutally frank and honest, tormented by many demons.

But what a great laugh, should get his bus drivers license ????

direct and honestly (1/2 people found this helpful)

Actually when i first saw him in Italia 90, but as a clear object in Euro 96. He was excllent skill if he managed to score extras in semi he would be national hero because England could win the cup.
As you reading the book you could see that he is trouble maker even he wants or not. I respect him more than before i read the book. I always wondering about the scandolus drunk during the euro 96 which written by papers( you could see the exactly what happends).....He is one, maybe Rooney could close his talents but i am not sure....The book shows alot of things clear. I respect him, his manner made the Gazza legend, also ruined his life..i hope that he could find peace from now on.......if tabloid press allows......
