I was hoping for a book with useful insights into the Cubase workflow, particularly in scoring for film as the description mentions. I barely gained any knowledge from this book, and I'm certainly not a seasoned Cubase user!
I got the impression that this book was aimed at those already familiar with audio software, but that lacked the in depth knowledge required to use it efficiently.. in reality the content is aimed at almost total newbies. The exercises, although relevant, were of no use to a fledgling composer such as myself. I extracted all useful information from this book in one sitting and have had no desire to revisit it ever since.
In summary, this book is probably educational and fun if you've never used Cubase before, but if you want to learn how to really USE this software rather than simply operate it, I doubt you'll benefit from this title at all.
