Wow! This book really captures Ghana. (1/1 people found this helpful)

I have visited Ghana three times as a volunteer with Raleigh International. This is the first book I have seen that actually comes close to showing my friends back home, what the country is like. The diversity of the landscape and cultures from the Ashanti King to the ancient Mosques in the far north.

Brilliant! A nice Happy Birthday present for Ghana at 50 years old.

Natural Beauty (4/4 people found this helpful)

Ghana: A portrait provides an inspiring insight into the first country in Africa south of the Sahara to gain independence from colonial rule. Divorcing itself from the trend to portray Africa in all to familiar images of pity and difficulty, this portrait celebrates the beauty of a nation celebrating it's 50th anniversary by focussing on the depth of what they have, what they have built and what they are. Max Milligan has managed to capture the varied and natural beauty Ghana offers using only natural lighting. The outcome is remarkable.

Eye Candy of a beautiful Country (1/2 people found this helpful)

Love it, love it, love it. I had been to a handful of places in Ghana. After looking at the pictures, it is now my lifetime ambition to visit all the regions of this beautiful country. If you are going to Ghana for the first or 10th time, I recommend that you get this book before you go. It will open your eyes to other wonderful places. Don't just stop at Accra, explore other places. Go on...
