Reader Reviews:Not the Author's Best (1/1 people found this helpful)
Golden Buddha (2/4 people found this helpful)Like other reviewers I have read most of Clive Cussler's books over the years, however this is the first I've read that he has written in association with Craig Dirgo. It will also be the last! The book contains 528 pages - I gave up on page 406! This is definitely not Clive Cussler's style at all. At times I must admit that I even doubted that he had anything to do with it at all. Very Disappointing (2/2 people found this helpful)The whole book is one superficial action sequence with numerous characters that blend in to each. I soon gave up trying to distinguish one from another as basically it doesn't make any difference to this comic book style of writing. Similar to the other reviewer I have now got 100 pages left to read... but currently have no interest in getting to the end. I have enjoyed previous Clive Cussler novels, so expected a simply adventure story, however this book proved to be a big disappointment Disappointing (3/3 people found this helpful)Like a previous reviewer I didn't finish this book. I found I didn't care about the characters, there were few surprises and before I reached the end I was totally indifferent to whether the enterprise was successful or not. a disappointing read (1/1 people found this helpful)I've read a lot of Clive Cussler novels and really enjoyed them. This was extremely disappointing when compared to his others. The plot and characters (of which there are so many that there's a cast list at the front of the book!) simply didn't hook me into the book. My gaps between reading sessions got gradually longer and longer, until I got to about 60 pages from the end when I stopped reading altogether. I will not finish the book to find out how it ends, simply because I don't care about the characters or the story-line. Very disappointed. If I ever finish the book and find the last 60 pages salvage it, then I'll eat my words and repost a review :-) Similar ProductsFire Ice: A Novel from the Numa Files Sacred Stone: A Novel from the Oregon Files CategoriesAmazon.co.uk places this book into the following categories:
