Reader Reviews:A brilliant cook book for family gatherings (4/5 people found this helpful)I have found this to be an extremely useful cook book and believe it delivers everything it states in the title - an excellent offering of Sunday lunch menus.
Hooray for the Yorkshire Recipes (7/7 people found this helpful)I've always had terrible trouble with my yorkshire puddings, until someone recommended this book to me. I bought it solely for this purpose, and it did indeed come up trumps and I have to say that my Yorkshires are now magnificent. It seemed a lot of money to spend just for this, but my family think it's worth it.
A great book with a very important message to encourage family eating (8/8 people found this helpful)I think this book is nothing short of briliant The book is showing us to cook and sit down as a family, not just as Sunday lunches, but any meals that involve sitting down at the table.
Quite Good (12/29 people found this helpful)I was very excited about this book when I got it for Christmas being a big fan of Ramsay's. Maybe I am being harsh on my rating but it contains many recipies which I would not cook. I feel it is guided more towards more formal occasions. It does help with timing in that it give you a timeline for a set of starters, mains and deserts. Also the DVD is quite good. I just think that there are a lot better books which contain a mixture of formal and informal recipies. Ramsay... (21/76 people found this helpful)I brought this book, as like many others, I wanted to try something different in cooking. Having already tried out Rhodes....I presumed Ramsay would be just as good. He does have a French Flair for Food, but I found this book average on the recipe front...dishes like Malaysian curry dish, creamed cabbage and celeriac with pancetta, venison in red wine and chocolate sauce! He does have some good basic realistic dishes in the book, but not enough! The book just babbles on and on about trying to get people to sit around the table and eat Sunday Roasties..hm!One thing I did find rather irritating, is that my book came with a CD of him cooking the foods he mentioned.....hate to admit it Gordon, but some of us can actually read and cook at the same time, without watching TV....only gets 3 stars.....sorry..
