A year earlier, The underbrewer at Guinness thought it would be a good idea to have a book that would answer trivia questions commonly asked at pubs. So, with the help of two record-breaking athletes and their fact-finding agency, The Guinness Book of World Records was born. It is good but not as good as last years. I was disappointed until i turned to the most downloaded women, i must say that she was kind of nice.

With bigger type, more unnecessarily large illustrations and an increase in irrelevant facts about Hollywood, fame, pop stars etc. this book has been on the decline since 1996 when the last edition full of interesting facts for the intelligent mind was published. This years is the most superficial yet and if the book continues to undergo such a degradation in quality(which is at least reflected in the fall in price) then I shall have no interest in purchasing it again. I may have given the book two crowns which may seem unduly high given my comments but consider that I would probably have awarded the 1996 edition five.

the layout isn't as clear and there are no longer any separate UK records. Also there are a lot of pointless records like the tallest hollywood actor
