Reader Reviews:
The best edition of Guinness World Records of all time (0/0 people found this helpful)As I'm sure you're aware, Guinness World Records holds its own undefeated record in its own book.
The bestselling book of all time.
Now, you may be reading this review thinking "what? Surely it can't be that special?" - but it tends to be those who haven't read a copy of Guinness World Records who exclaim those types of things. Once you've read Guinness World Records, the 2006 edition in particular, you'll easily see why it holds such a record.
Guinness World Records 2006 is simply staggering, for reasons I'm not even going to go into detail about. Put simply, it's an awesome book.
Stuffed with colour photos, astonishing achievements, fantastic feats, terrible trivia and much much more, this book is ideal for anyone who loves some funny, gory, and downright interesting reading.
When you go into a bookshop to buy this, I can tell you for a fact you won't miss it. It's amazing, bright green, 3d-like cover is the best I've seen on any book in the world.
Who's the world's greatest skateboarder?
What's the most downloaded single of all time?
Who has the longest female beard?
What's the largest type of turtle in the world?
Want to see the actual size of the world's largest kidney stone?
What's the longest time anyone's spent with a bullet in their head? The answer may surprise you............
Find out all of this and more in Guinness World Records 2006. I strongly recommend this book to anyone. Anyone, that is, who wants to read an amazing book!
An essential reference tool. (3/3 people found this helpful)Whilst some readers will always buy the latest edition of this book because they are interested in the largest, tallest, fastest or whatever, personally I have always found this book to be a first class reference source.
It was from the Guinness Book of records that I learned that the largest Turtle known to man was a giant Leatherback Turtle which (to my great surprise) was washed up on the shores of Ireland - and "not" some Caribbean country as one might expect.
Of course, not all the records are repeated from one edition into the next or each book would be identical except for any new records achieved during the past 12 months. For this reason, the reader might need to collect a few editions of the book in order to have as good a collection of records as possible.
Just a few loose thoughts really.
