This book is great for people who struggle with Guns N' Roses songs, or can't grasp the guitar styles of the band. The book takes parts of songs and explains how they should be played. For sweet child o' mine, welcome to the jungle, paradise ciy, don't cry, civil war, night train, patience, you could be mine and the garden, most parts of the song are transcribed, e.g. intro, verse, chorus, solo, outro, so you can play most parts of the song. For other songs, only tiny sections are transcribed, so i found that a little annoying. But the CD helps a lot, because it is slowed down slightly and matches the transcriptions in the book. Overall a good book, but please dont buy it just as a songbook.

This is an excellent book with breakdowns of the different parts of the best guns n roses songs. There are also two sections in the book to help you learn which give examples of slashs techniques to help you play the songs (and lets face it everybody wants to play like slash.) Its written in tablature and the normal notes gobble-de-gook stuff. It comes with a cd to let you isten to what it should sound like and you can play along to it. The man on the cd is a bit boring though. Overall this is an excellent book for begginers and pro's because it contains begginner riffs(like the sweet child of mine intro) and pro solos(like the sweet child of mine solo.)
Do be warned because this book does not contain the whole of each song. There are bits missing which the author must have thought were useless for learning so if you want the whole songs, you will have to buy a different book.(aswell as this one)

This book is a step by step breakdown of the guitar techniques of Guns 'n Roses guitarist Slash. It contains a detailed explanation of each section of the song (e.g. intro, verse, guitar solo) and detailed staff and tablature notation to play the section. It also contains a music CD to tell you what it should sound like. It contains the guitar parts for both of the band's guitarists and the songs selected are all the most popular.
This book is excellent as both a learning tool for the guitar, as it also takes time to explain complicated techniques and terms, and as a companion to the most experienced guitar player, searching to learn something new or challenging to play.
Some of the notation used is hard to understand but overall it is an excellently constructed book and a must-have for anyone serious aobut guitar.
