In Habeas Corpus, Bennett has written a masterpiece. A wonderful blend of satire, farce, melodrama, slapstic. The lead character, Wicksteed - originally played by Sir Alex Guinness back in the 70s - is one of the greats of the modern theatre, and the only three dimensional character in the cast!
