This is a good book if you want to learn about the history of hacking and would like an overview of hacking techniques.
The edition I have been reading has been revised but is a little dated. Its a nice and pocket sized book so you can take it anywhere.
Nevertheless I would recommend this as Dr K has a great way of explaining hacking and much of it is relevant today's current cyber environment.

This is the latest version of this excellent book on hacking,phreaking and cracking in all its forms.
Whilst its fairly technical, it's not too heavy in the detail. It goes through the various ways and methods that people use to hack their way into systems, computers etc.
If you are looking for a manual that teaches you how to hack, this isn't it. However it gives you the principles involved and makes it very interesting to read about.
Really enjoyed this book and learned a lot from it.
