This is by no stretch of the imagination a bad book. It contains lots of useful information presented in a sensible, easy to understand way.

Books like this a very difficult to pitch at the correct level as the potential readership has such a wide range of technical knowledge. This particular book appears to be aimed at the technologically naïve.

I would not recommend buying this book; most, if not all, the information is easily obtainable from the myriad web sites devoted to the iPod. It does not represent good value for money.

This book had a lot of info that I had previously been completely unaware of. The author (Accarrino) does a good job of filling you in with all sorts of interesting things, while keeping it simple. Anyone interested in MP3's, or the cross-section of technology & music should own this book.

I have been visiting the website of this author for a couple years now on how to hack and tweak out ALL KINDS of computer gadgets...After I got my ipod, a 20 gigger, last March, I was happy to learn that Jonathan Accarrino, the author of this book, has released an over 300 PAGE BOOK on hacking my favorite gadget of the 20th or 21st century............the IPOD!

I received the book last week, and I WAS EXTREMELY FLABBERGASTED!!! THIS BOOK HAS EVERYTHING.....I have already started hacking away at my ipod....and couldn't be happier....So, KUDOS to a great book, the BEST OF ITS KIND.......and to my new found "hacking" skills.....that even a dummy like me can pull off like gangbusters!!!

I received an iPod as a corporate gift back in July from the (generous) company I work for but I'm not exactly the most updated techy-gadget woman.

"Hacking iPod and iTunes" taught me how to make the most of my iPod but in simplistic terms that even a non-tech person like myself could understand. I highly recommend this book to ALL iPod owners because if you think you're fully utilizing your iPod's capacity - once you read this book - you'll think again.

I am using my ipod (30gb) with MusicMatch (PC) and itunes on a iMac at home. I could't be happier with this book by mr. accarrino. This book made me a speed user and novice hacker in just one reading. While this book was written for an earlier version of ipod, most of the chapters are up to date with the latest version of the software as far as I can tell. Even the chapters that pertain to the ipod hardware are reasonably applicable to the new hardware. Go ahead and buy this book, you'll love it. BTW, I am not in anyway connected with this book or its author, mr. accarrino, publsihers, etc. I am just a very satisfied user.
